I’m a returning Client of Studio 8 after having my second born but previously had been getting my hair done with them for over 6 years! I love that as soon as you walk through the door you instantly feel relaxed and there is always someone taking care of you! Caryn is so lovely and does such an amazing job with maintaining my blonde! . I would highly recommend if you’re after a high quality salon on the Beaches!

Love love love Chelsea and the rest of the team at Studio 8. Ive been coming to her for around a year now and my hair is in the best condition yet, whilst still being able to be ‘bronde’. Chelsea suggested I opt for toner top ups instead of a big balayage apt every 6 months which has improved condition on my hair sooooo much. They start each appointment with a consultation and quote - so you don’t get any added surprises when you pay at the end. Just a small thing that I really appreciate.

So happy I’ve finally found my trusted hairdresser in Sydney! Been going to studio 8 for a couple of years now and they always get my colour absolutely perfect! After some postpartum hair loss I wanted to feel a bit more confident for my wedding. Chelsea talked me through all the options and I ended up going for keratin bond extensions. I am so so happy with them, the colour match was perfect and I felt incredible on my wedding day.

I recently got my hair coloured and extensions done by the amazing Chelsea and I honestly couldn’t be happier! From the consultation right through to the finished result, I felt so looked after and genuinely cared for. Chelsea did both my colour and extensions and the match is unreal everything looks so natural 🤍 For my first time ever getting extensions, the whole experience was perfect. I felt so confident walking out — she absolutely nailed it

They charged me $700 to snap my hair to 1cm and the breakage was so bad my hair had to be cut from below my bust to above my ears. It will take 4-5 years minimum to grow back and the hairdresser tried to gaslight me and say this is normal for blondes. (I had been blonde for 15 years) This is the worst experience I’ve ever had at a salon, and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. I went into Studio 8 with long, strong, healthy hair. I was careful with bleaching. I even told the hairdresser I’d rather have darker roots than risk damage. She reassured me, then went ahead with a full bleach anyway — and wanted to do a second round after the first had already caused breakage. She never warned me anything had gone wrong. It wasn’t until I noticed it myself during the blow-dry — my hair was snapping off in chunks — that I realised how bad it was. There was clear banding, with three different colours running through my hair, and large patches broken off to the root. When I asked what happened, she blamed a previous salon visit (from two months ago), claiming her bleach must have “reacted” with theirs. I said I wasn’t happy with it and i wanted her to fix it, but she rushed me out the door as she had no time and had to help her next client. She never offered a fix, never took responsibility, and even told me I’d be “fine after a few washes.” When I pointed out how short and broken my hair was, she said it was normal breakage — and that the mini mohawk now running down the top of my head would “wash out.” I genuinely felt gaslit. It was so bad I had to cut my hair to my ears. My new hairdresser said it looked like someone did it on purpose — “Like they hated you.” I was charged $700 for that appointment. I had to beg the owner to step in, and she weeks later did eventually refund the cost of the initial service — but nothing else. I still paid hundreds more trying to fix the colour at their salon and damage, and over the next year spent thousands on treatments and products trying to save what was left. The shedding continued for months. I was told I couldn’t bleach my hair again until it had completely grown out Studio 8’s proposed fix was a full head of BLACK back to back foils to hide the damage and banding. plus I spent THOUSANDS over the next year on treatments and products just to stop the shedding. In the photo of the banding you can see a white line of heavily processed hair and over the next year this is where most of my HAIR SNAPPED OFF WHERE SHE OVERLAPPED THE BLEACH. I couldn’t comb my hair, sleep on my hair, wash my hair or dry my hair without massive breakage. They offered to “fix” the length with extensions $1,000 upfront (because I have thick hair), plus $300 every 6–8 weeks just for maintenance. The hair itself would need replacing every few months. Over four years, that’s $15,000–$18,000 just to get back to where my hair was before they ruined it. I declined. I didn’t leave the house for weeks. For over a year I wore hats or beanies just to feel okay going outside. My confidence was destroyed. This wasn’t a small mistake. It was careless, unprofessional, and deeply upsetting. If you value your hair and your self-esteem please, don’t risk going to Studio 8. What happened to me will take over FOUR YEARS TO GROW BACK. The hairdresser should be ashamed of what she did. She didn’t just ruin my hair, she dismissed me, blamed others, and acted like nothing had happened. All the owner had to say was “Apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused and hopefully we get the opportunity to see you again.”
